Kyra M. Sedgwick (born Kyra Minturn) is a popular American actress and television personality. Her name is known all over the world and especially in America because of her leading role in the TV series 'The Closer'. Sedgwick was first fascinated by performing arts, Broadway, and acting when she turned 12 years old. Her mother had a great fascination with the Broadway and brought her into it. Sedgwick was only sixteen when she had her first professional role on the show 'Another World. Her desire was to be a renowned actor, not just small TV part that attracted Sedgwick initially. In the film "Born during the 4th of July", in which Tom Cruise also starred, Sedgwick was noticed for the first time in a large screen.
