Rochon is a native of her home in the Los Angeles suburb of Torrance and is her parents being Zelma, a nurse practitioner and Samuel Staples, a business proprietor and graphic artist. Cerritos high school in Cerritos is where she received her degree from. She graduated in 1986 from California State University Dominguez Hill (CSUDH) with an undergraduate degree in Broadcast Journalism, minoring in Sociology and Theatre. Rochon was featured as a speaker for CSUDH's College of Arts and Humanities graduation ceremony in 2016.

Heather Storm is a network TV host, producer and Travel Writer. A car enthusiast, Heather has worked as the TV host, producer as well as a travel writer for a variety of networks. Heather is the co-creator and hosts of the online travel show, Drive Yourself Local, where she explores America in her classic 1965 Ford Mustang sharing local slices of life in small towns.
